Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) services in Bangalore

Generative Engine Optimization is the work of making your brand one of the sources ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews cite when they answer questions in your category. Citemark delivers it as a monthly engagement from Bengaluru — entity building, technical structure, answer-first content and citation tracking — run by engineers.

Definition

What GEO is — and what it isn't

GEO is not “SEO with AI keywords”. Search engines rank pages; generative engines select sources and write one answer. That changes what you optimise: from keywords and backlinks alone to verifiable identity, retrievable structure and content worth quoting.

Most brands need all three. We run them as one engagement.

Scope

What's included in a GEO engagement

A GEO engagement covers six workstreams. Not every brand needs all six at full intensity — the audit decides the mix.

  1. 01

AI visibility audit & prompt map

The 50–200 prompts your buyers actually ask, what each engine answers today, and who it cites instead of you.

  2. 02

    Entity engineering

One consistent identity everywhere engines check: schema (ProfessionalService, Person, Service), Google Business Profile, LinkedIn, Crunchbase, Clutch and GoodFirms, and directory citations. Contradictions found and removed.

  3. 03

    Retrievability

Server-rendered pages, clean HTML, llms.txt, Bing indexing (ChatGPT's source), and crawler access verified for GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and Google-Extended.

  4. 04

    Citation-worthy content

Answer-first pages, original data and benchmarks, named authors with credentials, dated updates. Written to be quoted, not just ranked.

  5. 05

    Mentions & digital PR

Your brand named on the third-party pages engines already trust: industry lists, directories, communities (Reddit, Quora, LinkedIn), press.

  6. 06

    Citation tracking & reporting

Monthly: which prompts cite you, on which engines, with screenshots; share of answer versus named competitors; what moved and why.

How engines choose

How AI engines choose what to cite

Each engine builds answers differently, so we optimise for each one rather than hoping a single tactic covers all of them.

  • ChatGPT retrieves through Bing's index. If you're not indexed in Bing, you don't exist to ChatGPT search. We set up Bing Webmaster Tools and IndexNow in week one.
  • Perplexity fetches live and cites generously. It's the fastest engine to reflect changes — often within two weeks — and the best early signal that the work is landing.
  • Google AI Overviews and Gemini lean on Google's organic rankings and Knowledge Graph entities. Strong SEO and a clean entity are prerequisites.
  • Copilot and Claude — Copilot runs on Bing; Claude's web search favours well-structured, clearly attributed pages.
  • All of them prefer sources that are consistent across the web, written by identifiable people, and structured so the answer can be lifted cleanly.

Timeline

Timeline: what to expect and when

We publish the timeline before you sign. It's based on the engagements we've run and it's conservative on purpose.

GEO engagement timeline
WhenWhat's true
Weeks 1–2Audit delivered; prompt map agreed; Google and Bing indexing fixed
Weeks 2–6Entity and technical fixes live; first content shipped
Weeks 3–8First Perplexity citations for long-tail prompts; ChatGPT follows as Bing re-crawls
Months 2–4Consistent citations for low-competition prompts; AI Overview inclusions as organic rankings rise
Months 6–12Citations for competitive category prompts; measurable share of answer versus competitors

Competitive, high-intent prompts (“best option in Bangalore”) take longest because engines already have sources they trust. That’s where the mentions workstream matters most.

Pricing

What GEO costs

GEO is included in every Citemark plan alongside SEO and AEO, from ₹50,000/month, month to month. A fixed-price three-month sprint is available if you want a defined start and end. The audit is free and comes first.

Questions, answered

Is GEO just SEO renamed?

No. SEO optimises for a ranked list; GEO optimises to be selected as a source for a generated answer. They overlap on foundations, but GEO adds entity consistency, retrievability for AI crawlers and off-site mentions that SEO alone doesn't require.

Can you guarantee my brand will be cited by ChatGPT?

No. Engines change their retrieval weekly and nobody controls them. We guarantee the audit, the workstreams, the reporting cadence and a published timeline — and we show citations as screenshots.

How do you measure GEO?

Monthly, against the agreed prompt map: number of prompts where you're cited, per engine; share of answer versus named competitors; referral sessions from AI engines in GA4; and the screenshots behind every number.

Do I need a new website?

Usually not. Most sites need rendering, schema and indexing fixes, which we make in your codebase. If the platform can't be fixed we'll say so and quote a rebuild separately.

Does GEO work for small businesses, or only big brands?

It works best where the category is specific and the brand is verifiable. A Bangalore clinic with consistent profiles and clear answers can be cited ahead of a national chain for local prompts.

Which AI engines do you cover?

ChatGPT (including search), Google AI Overviews and Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Microsoft Copilot. We add engines as they gain share.
