Technical SEO & site engineering

Technical SEO is everything that decides whether an engine can fetch, render, understand and trust your pages: crawling, indexing, rendering, speed, structure and schema. Citemark does it in your codebase — Next.js, React, WordPress, Shopify or custom — with developers who have shipped production software, and ships the fix the week the audit finds it.

Scope

What we fix

Six areas. The audit scores all six, and you see the prioritised list before we touch anything.

  • Crawling and indexing

Robots rules, XML sitemaps with real modification dates, canonicals, redirect chains, Bing submission with IndexNow, and crawler access verified for GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot.
  • Rendering

Server-rendered HTML for JavaScript frameworks, hydration errors, content that only exists after a click — and the difference between what users see and what AI crawlers receive.
  • Performance

Core Web Vitals — LCP, INP, CLS — measured in field data, not just the lab. Image and font pipelines, third-party scripts, caching.
  • Structure and schema

Organization, Service, Article, FAQ and Breadcrumb schema generated from one source of truth, so it cannot drift from the page. Internal linking. llms.txt.
  • Migrations

Domain, platform or URL changes with a complete redirect map and zero-loss checks before and after. One planned cut-over day.
  • Monitoring

Log-file analysis, Search Console and Bing coverage, and alerts when a template change breaks something — before the rankings tell you.

How we work

Tickets versus pull requests

A recommendations deck is a to-do list for someone else. We open the pull request.

  • Read access to the repository, a staging environment, and a review from your developer if you have one.
  • Every change reviewed, tested on staging, and shipped so it can be rolled back in minutes.
  • Measured before and after: crawl stats, Core Web Vitals field data, index coverage.
  • If you have no developer, we are the developer. If you have one, we make them faster.

Platforms

Platforms we work in

If a platform can't be fixed, we say so and quote a rebuild separately.

  • Next.js and React
  • Vue and Nuxt
  • WordPress
  • Shopify
  • Webflow
  • Custom and legacy stacks

Deliverables

What you get

Four things, every engagement.

  • An audit with scored, prioritised fixes
  • Pull requests — or a precise change list for your developer
  • Before-and-after measurements for every fix
  • A retrievability report: what each AI crawler actually sees

For agencies

White-label technical SEO

If you run SEO or GEO for clients and don't have engineers, we're the engineering team behind your recommendations. Your brand on the report, our developers in the codebase. Bangalore and remote.

Timeline

Timeline: what to expect and when

Technical work shows up fastest of the three disciplines, because the engines re-crawl and re-measure on their own schedule — not yours.

Questions, answered

Do you need access to my code?

Read access and a pull-request workflow is the fast path. If that's not possible, we hand your developer a precise change list with the exact files and diffs. We never need production secrets.

Will changes break my site?

Every change is reviewed, tested on staging, and shipped in a way that can be rolled back in minutes. If you have a developer, they review our pull requests; if you don't, we are the developer.

What is a retrievability audit?

A report of what GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Googlebot and Bingbot actually receive when they fetch your pages — the rendered HTML, blocked resources, robots rules, response times — compared with what a user sees. The gap between the two is where AI visibility is lost.

Do you handle migrations?

Yes — domain, platform or URL-structure changes, with a full redirect map, a crawl before and after, and Search Console and Bing change-of-address handled. One cut-over day, planned in advance.

Can another agency hire you?

Yes. We do white-label technical SEO for SEO and GEO agencies that don't have engineers: your brand on the report, our developers in the codebase.

Can you fix Core Web Vitals on WordPress or Shopify?

Yes, within what the platform allows — and we tell you where that limit is before we start. Most sites have large wins in images, fonts and third-party scripts before the platform becomes the constraint.

See what the crawlers see

The retrievability audit compares what your users get with what GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and Googlebot get. Free, five working days.
