Do Google reviews affect AI recommendations?
Yes — indirectly and strongly. Engines cite entities they can verify, and review volume, recency and consistency across Google, Justdial and industry platforms are part of that verification; Google lists reviews under “prominence” in local ranking, which AI Overviews build on. Reviews won’t make a thin site citable, but a business with none is rarely named for local prompts.

What the engines read
For “is X good” and “best X near Y” prompts, engines draw on review text, counts and ratings from Google Business Profile and the platforms your industry uses, and quote them. The reviews are the evidence; your site is the claim.
A process, not a campaign
A review request at the moment of delivery, by the person who delivered, with a direct link; a reply to every review within a working day; and the same business details on every platform. Steady volume beats a burst, and a burst of similar reviews is exactly what detection systems look for.
What not to do
Buy, trade or write reviews, or offer incentives for them. Google’s policies prohibit it, platforms detect it better every year, and a wiped profile sets a local business back months. The same spam policies that govern Search govern the local results AI answers rely on.
